IMPORTANT NOTICE FOR COACHES
YBOA AND GEORGIA YBOA HAVE DRESS CODES. WE HAVE ALWAYS HAD DRESS CODES. ALTHOUGH IN GEORGIA WE HAVE BEEN SOMEWHAT NELIGENT IN ENFORCING THEM, NOW THAT SUMMER IS HERE IT IS GETTING RIDUCULOUS. RECENTLY WE HAVE HAD COACHES SIGNING IN WITH, TANK TOPS, T-SHIRTS (NON-CLUB), CUT-OFF SHORTS, GYM SHORTS, FLIP-FLOPS, SANDALS AND FOR THE LADIES WE HAD SEVERAL IN SPAGETTI STRAP TOPS AND SPIKED HEELS. (AND LOTS OF SANDALS) LET US REVIEW THE DRESS CODE. VIOLATION OF THE DRESS CODE WILL RESULT IN BEGINNING THE GAME WITH AN ADMINISTRATIVE TECHNICAL FOUL. SUBSEQUENT VIOLATIONS AND THE COACH MAY NOT SIT ON THE BENCH.
THE DRESS CODE IS LISTED AT WWW.YBOA.ORG AT PARA. 6.0 SUB PARA 6.2 AND IS AS FOLLOWS:
6.2 All coaches will wear long pants or dress shorts, shirts with collars, and dress or
basketball/tennis shoes. Casual (basketball or athletic) shorts and/or “cut off” shorts, warm-up
suits, t-shirts, hats, jeans and open-toed shoes (sandals, flip flops, etc.) are not permitted.
Collarless shirts with sleeves that display a team’s colors with mascot, logo, etc. are
acceptable.
Coaches that come to the game not in the proper attire will start the game with as administrative technical foul. If they are still improperly dressed for subsequent games they will not be allowed to coach.
ALSO, ANY COACH CAUGHT TRYING TO SIGN IN AS A COACH WITHOUR POSSESSING A COACHES CARD WILL BE SUSPENDED FOR A PERIOD OF TIME. THERE MAY BE 3 COACHES ON THE BENCH (ONLY IF THEY HAVE PAID THEIR $20.00 AND POSSESS THEIR CARD OR PAPERWORK TO PROVE THEY HAVE PAID.) WIVES AND CHILDREN OF COACHES, SCORE KEEPERS, STAT KEEPERS, TEAM MOM'S (OR DAD'S), ADMINISTRATOR'S, BUS DRIVER'S, ETC DO NOT RECEIVE FREE ADMISSION TO GAMES. IF A STAT KEEPER OR SCORE KEEPER WANTS TO SIT ON THE BENCH THEY MUST POSSESS A COACHES CARD AND THE LIMIT IS STILL 3 PEOPLE. SINCE THIS IS ABOUT THE KID'S AND WE ARE ALL TRYING TO BE POSITIVE ROLE MODELS FOR OUR CHILDREN I WOULD PREFER TO THINK WE HAVE BEEN CONFUSED ABOUT THIS ISSUE AND MAYBE THIS WILL CLEAR IT.
